On June eighth, the Danbury Cultural Commission is opening their office doors between ten A M and two P M at two fifty six Main Street so you can get a look at the nineteen thirty four, entire room sized, Charles Federer Mural. This rarely seen artwork covers half of the Old Libraries interior walls. Floor to ceiling is adorned with the story book characters you remember. Charles Federer's other Danbury Murals have been lost to time but this masterpiece remains as part of the OLD Library.
While you take in the artwork, you will also be able to gather information about the multiple arts organizations in Danbury to see just how much is always happening throughout the City. Organizations like The Danbury Music Centre, Danbury Concert Association, Stanley L. Richter Association for the Arts, Musicals at Richter, Mad Hatters Chorus, Connecticut Ballet, and more will be featured.
Admission is free. Municipal Parking is available at the Bardo garage directly behind the building.
