What is the Danbury Cultural Commission

The Danbury Cultural Commission is the citizen's voice for supporting cultural and artistic events in Danbury. They support and help fund performing arts programs for Danbury residents free of charge. The eleven-member Commission supports the development of new arts programs and supports and funds local arts, cultural and ethnic activities. The Commission also encourages, promotes and co-sponsors events which benefit and improve the quality of life for Danbury residents. Bat Boy: the Musical at WCSU weekends to Nov. 6

Western Connecticut State university, Department of Theater Arts presents, Bat Boy, The Musical. Performances are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the WCSU west side campus. There are multiple curtains times, so check the University website for details And Please note that this show features double casting in the roles of Meredith Parker and Shelley Parker.

Danbury Farmers’ Market until 10/28

The Danbury Farmers Market, now in its twelfth year, is open on the Danbury Green at Ives Street for only two more events through October Twenty eighth.

The Market accepts E B T, S N A P and Debit/Credit cards. And S N A P benefits will be matched for any dollar amount for SNAP recipients using their E B T cards. Special incentives are available for Veterans, Seniors, and WIC recipients as well.

DizzyFish - Richter Association for the Arts Fall 2022 October 16

Stanley L. Richter Association for the Arts presents: DizzyFish on October Sixteenth at Two PM at the Richter Art Center, One hundred Aunt Hack Road, Danbury. DizzyFish is a Connecticut band that performs a show called The Best of the 70s. They have been selling out theaters in Connecticut since 2019. The show features the timeless songs of artists like Neil Young, The Beatles, Van Morrison, The Rolling Stones, CSN, John Denver, The Eagles, James Taylor, Bob Seger, America, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Eric Clapton & More! DizzyFish, led by Eric Herbst, includes band members Jon Saxon on Saxophone, Roger Post on Drums, John Zanella on Bass, and Josh Sette on Keyboards.

Please note this concert is scheduled as an outdoor performance. Please bring your own seating and a picnic, if you like. The event will move indoors if it rains.

The Richter Arts Fall 2022 Concert Series continues with a broad array of musical performers each Sunday afternoon until October Thirtieth.

American Folk Songs and Spirituals performed by Noteworthy on October 16, 7:00 pm

Enjoy, American Folk Songs and Spirituals, a FREE family-friendly concert of songs celebrating our rich musical American history and heritage on Sunday, October Sixteenth, at seven pm.

The concert is broth to you by, Noteworthy, the Danbury-based a cappella singing ensemble. The performance will be at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Thirty Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, on Sunday, October Sixteenth ay Seven O'clock pm. 

NOTEWORTHY is an ensemble of twelve singers who present music of many genres to the Greater Danbury Community. This concert is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome.

Stanley L. Richter Association for the Arts presents: From Bach to Montsalvatge on October Ninth at Two PM at the Richter Art Center, One hundred Aunt Hack Road, Danbury. Soprano Kate Kyunghee Kim, Oboist Rachael Ahn, and Pianist EunJung Ahn, will bring a delightful musical journey from Bach to Montsalvatge to the Richter House.
