Danbury December to remember Dec. 3

December third is chuck full of things to do. Starting at ten AM is the Holiday Craft Fair at the Danbury Library. The Holiday Craft Fair features over a dozen artists and craftspeople demonstrating their skills throughout the day. There will be activities for youngsters, with Meet the Elf for an hour from ten thirty, and Tuba Christmas just after noon on the plaza.

And there are even more events on December third just up the hill from Main Street. At three o'clock there are separate performances of Handel’s Messiah by Danbury Music Centre in the First Congregational Church at 164 Deer Hill Ave, and The Mad Hatter Chorus performs their Holiday Concert in the Church of Christ Danbury at 90 Clapboard Ridge Rd, Danbury.

And there is even more. There are two performances of Season's Greetings by Alan Ayckbourn produced by the Western Connecticut State University Department of Theatre Arts. The matinee starts at two o'clock and the curtain rises at eight o'clock for the evening performance. Both are staged in the Mainstage Theatre Visual & Performing Arts Center on the westside campus.

Due to inclement weather, the Winter Festival at the Ives Street Green between one and seven PM is moved to Saturday the fourth. The Festival features crafts, cookies, carolers, and hot coco plus pictures with Santa. The festival wraps up with a lighted firetruck parade and Mayor Esposito leading the lighting of Danbury’s very own 40 foot holiday tree!
