The Greek Experience June 7, 8, and 9

June seven, eight, and nine is the Greek experience in Danbury Connecticut. 

On behalf of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church community, you are invited to the 43rd annual Festival celebrating the rich culture of Greek heritage.

Come enjoy the warm hospitality, learn more about the beautiful Byzantine Church, and experience the Orthodox Christian traditions. Admission is absolutely free to this fun-filled celebration that showcases many of the most beloved aspects of Greek culture including Folk Dancers performing in authentic costumes, live music, artisan crafts, wine and of course, delicious food.

The Festival is hosted on the grounds of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church on Clapboard Ridge Road in Danbury, Connecticut. It’s easy to find! Just take exit 5 off of I-84 and follow the signs. There is additional free parking and shuttle service available at Danbury High School, as well.

Connecticut Open House Day June 8 in Danbury at 256 Main Street 10 - 2

On June eighth, the Danbury Cultural Commission is opening their office doors between ten A M and two P M at two fifty six Main Street so you can get a look at the nineteen thirty four, entire room sized, Charles Federer Mural.  This rarely seen artwork covers half of the Old Libraries interior walls. Floor to ceiling is adorned with the story book characters you remember. Charles Federer's other Danbury Murals have been lost to time but this masterpiece remains as part of the OLD Library. 

While you take in the artwork, you will also be able to gather information about the multiple arts organizations in Danbury to see just how much is always happening throughout the City. Organizations like The Danbury Music CentreDanbury Concert AssociationStanley L. Richter Association for the ArtsMusicals at RichterMad Hatters ChorusConnecticut Ballet, and more will be featured. 

Admission is free. Municipal Parking is available at the Bardo garage directly behind the building.

Downtown Chow-Down 2024 Through June 27

The City of Danbury, and CityCenter Danbury are excited to announce the seasonal collaborative culinary arts event, The Downtown Chow-Down!  The event will be held on the Ives Street GREEN, every Thursday until June twenty seventh, from eleven thirty a m, to one thirty p m. Lunchtime delights from local food trucks and live music will bring the community together. Come out and enjoy our outdoor food truck experience and play some games, if you wish, as we make the Ives Street Green the place to be this spring. 

Here’s the list of the featured food trucks lined up for this FOODTASTIC event this season: Cousins Lobster, Dish It Right Here, Twins Barbecue , Punchy Island Grill, Birria Truck, Bocagua Chimi Truck, and Brazilian Barbecue Boys.

The Stanley L Richter Association for the Arts Spring 2024 Performing Arts thru May 26 at 3 pm

The Stanley L Richter Association for the Arts Spring Twenty twenty four Performing Arts season continues with performances each Sunday at three p m, through May Twenty sixth. The next musical performer is Catoonah Street Jazz on May nineteenth at three p m. The performance is outdoor. Please bring seating

The  Catoonah Street Jazz and Blues Society will bring the sound of New  Orleans style Jazz to Danbury. They have been performing for more than  20 years, spreading happiness and joy through their music.

While major renovation is happening at the Richter Art Center, performances will be at the Danbury Museum, forty three Main Street. All Richter Arts events are at three P M and free with no tickets or reservations required for attendance. Please consider making a modest donation to help pay for the performances. Many of the performances are inside, at the Danbury Museum, Forty three Main Street, Danbury but for OUTDOOR performances, please bring seating.

Internationally acclaimed virtuoso pianist, Sophia Agranovich, will perform a recital of romantic masterpieces featuring, Sonata in B minor by Chopin, Brahms-Paganini Variations, Sonetto del Petrarca #104, and Rhapsodie Espagnole by Liszt.
