Seven at 7 music series at Saint Peter Church March 8, 2024

The seven at seven concert series at Saint Peter Church continues on March eighth with Stations of the Cross featuring Franz Liszt’s “Via Crucis”. All events are free and open to the public; however, free-will donations are gladly accepted at the door. Saint Peter church is located at 104 Main Street Danbury and there is parking across the street. The series starts at seven P M. 

Future events include on April twenty sixth an Organ recital with New York City organist, Janet Yieh and on May thirty first, Choral Vespers with the St. Peter Parish Choir, always a Friday evening at seven o’clock.

Danbury Concert Association presents The Essex Octet, Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m.

 The Danbury Concert association brings The Essex Octet, to the City on Sunday, March tenth, Twenty Twenty four, at three p m. Renowned clarinetist David Shifrin returns to the series with seven other acclaimed virtuosos. The highlight of their program will be the monumental Schubert Octet, “a rarely heard masterpiece.”

The Essex Octet included: Ani and Ida Kavafian on violins; Steven Tenenbom on viola; Peter Wiley on cello; Timothy Cobb on base; David Shifrin on clarinet; Frank Morelli on bassoon; and William Purvis on horn.

Single tickets at twenty five dollars per adult can be purchased through Eventbrite on Western Connecticut State University's Eventbrite page. Admission is FREE for ages 18 and under, thanks to the Danbury Cultural Commission. Please reserve in advance through Eventbrite. 

Performances take place at the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the WCSU Westside Campus. Tickets to individual concerts at twenty five dollars per adult will go on sale within two weeks of each performance.

 On Sunday March 10 come to Danbury High auditorium for "A Journey", a musical solo performance by Kimberly Wilson that portrays seven historical women from different eras, who share their stories through song, movement and dialogue. These women show how their faith, hope and calling helped shape the America we know today. They include an African queen, Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks and more. Their stories are full of joy and sorrow, and they reveal the strength and courage of womanhood, which is often overlooked in American history.
