Saint James’s Carillon July series, Wednesdays at 1:00 through July 31

Returning to Danbury this July is Saint James’ Carillon music series. This annual series offers the opportunity to listen on Wednesdays in July to the The First American Carillon, from the courtyard of Saint James or the Plaza of the Library or most of Downtown Danbury. All concerts are free, start at One o'clock and last about a half an hour. The first performance is July third with Kristin O'Connor Vece, Former Carillonneur at Saint James's Danbury, Connecticut. Next on July Tenth is Carla Staffaroni, the Carillonneur at Riverside Church New York, New York.

GREASE, Opening at Musicals at Richter July 26 - August 10

Get ready for Opening Night. Musicals at Richter, Connecticut’s longest-running outdoor theater, continues its Fortieth season with the sizzling rock'n'roll musical, GREASE, opening July Twenty six and running through August Ten. Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center, One hundred Aunt Hack Road in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings, with additional specially discounted performances on Thursdays August First and Eighth.

Musicals at Richter is partially funded by the Danbury Cultural Commission.

What is the Danbury Cultural Commission

The Danbury Cultural Commission is the citizen's voice for supporting cultural, heritage and artistic events in Danbury. They support and help fund performing arts programs for Danbury residents free of charge. The eleven-member Commission continues to support the development of new arts programs and supports and funds local arts, cultural and ethnic activities, as it has for 57 years. The Commission also encourages, promotes and co-sponsors events which benefit and improve the quality of life for Danbury residents. For updates, follow us on Instagram. IN View Volunteer Opportunities for promotion and space location

The IN View project brings Visual Art to Main Street Storefronts. And right now the IN View Project is looking to grow. If anyone in greater Danbury is interested in volunteering to help bring art works to the community please contact the Cultural Commission, who will pass the response along to the project director. Help is needed with promotion and securing storefront spaces. 

Beyond that, inView is always looking for more artist to display their work! 

The IN VIEW project is a collaboration between property owners in downtown Danbury, Connecticut and area emerging artist who seek a venue to exhibit work.
