Richter Arts Spring Season - Grayson Hugh April 15

The Richter Arts Association continues their 2018 Richter Association For The Arts Spring Season, amazing presentation of photographs by renowned European photographer, Romeo Fraioli. His exhibit is titled, Of Streets, Of Light, and Colors. While you view Mister Fraioli's work, on April 15 you will also hear Singer, Song writer, and pianist, Grayson Hugh. Charles Ives Concert Series: The Ives Legacy, Today's American Composers - Danbury Music Centre April 7

The Marian Anderson Recital Hall at 256 Main Street Danbury, Connecticut is the place for the first Ives Series concert of 2018. This is a celebration of Charles Ives’s legacy, works written by today’s American composers. Ives Series artists include Isabel Hagen, Mika Sasaki, Julian Schwarz, Caeli Smith, and Chelsea Starbuck Smith who return to Danbury. Flutist Christina Hughes makes her Ives Series debut. They will perform works by Stefan Cwik, Carlos Simon, Nina Young, Justin Dello Joio, Robert Beaser, and a premiere by the Ives Series artistic director, Paul Frucht.

2018 Art at Ives Juried Fine Art and Crafts Show March 31

Ives Art Center is proud to work together creatively with many artists and community stakeholders such as the Western Connecticut State University Art Department, the Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and the Brookfield Craft Center to develop the Juried Fine Art & Crafts Show and to envision and inspire cultural enrichment for the entire family.
The 3rd Annual Art at Ives will feature a great variety of high quality original works offering a diverse scope of art forms representing every major category.
The deadline for submissions is March 31.

Third of the series Danbury Concert Association April 15

Joel Fan, is the pianist for the Danbury Concert Association presentation on Sunday, April 15, 2018, at 3 pm. Joel is Returning with the crowd-pleasing virtuosity, and bold repertoire that were hailed by the News-Times in 2011, as a “rewarding program” with “rhythmic acuteness, and a broad tonal palette, that made the piano sing with orchestral colors.

Art Jams, Workspace Collective - March 18

Art Jams is a time that we take out to socialize while creating together. It started out as the Collective Designers coming in on a Sunday when the space is closed, to come in with individual projects, and make things together over brunch and making it a social thing. Now they're opening this concept up to the public, allowing the community to welcome more friends, allowing folks the opportunity to make and create with our designers, and creating a bond together with the community. The Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center’s St. Patrick’s Day parade March 25

The Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center’s St. Patrick’s Day parade is on Sunday, March 25th. Step off is at 3 p.m. in front of Saint Peter Church in Danbury. Then the parade route continues down Main, Left on West St, then to Lake Avenue, ending at the Irish Club, 6 Lake Ave. Danbury. There will be Irish music, dance, corned beef, cabbage & Irish soda bread.

Marcia Klebanow Accompanist Chair Dedication Concert March 17

The Danbury Music Centre is proud to produce the Marcia Klebanow, Accompanist Chair Dedication Concert. March 17 is the date, starting at 7:30 pm in the Marian Anderson Recital Hall, 256 Main Street Danbury, Connecticut.

The concert features Max Vladimiroff, on piano, who is the Recipient of the Marcia Klebanow Accompanist Chair, with Alexey Avetisyan, on violin. A Special Guest is Nick Luby, also playing piano, who is the Grandson of Marcia Klebanow. Seating is Limited so Please purchase tickets as soon as possible. This position provides a world class accompanist for the Danbury Concert Chorus and other ensembles of the Danbury Music Centre.

On Friday, March 9, the Palace Danbury is presenting the Connecticut premier of the documentary film Chasing Great, about rugby superstar Richie McCaw. This film is the fascinating documentary about New Zealand rugby legend who is regarded as one of the greatest rugby players and greatest athletes of all time.

The Connecticut Book Awards Are Back! April 20

The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut announces, the Connecticut Center for the Book, at Connecticut Humanities, is now accepting submissions for, the Connecticut Book Awards! These awards recognize the best books of Twenty Seventeen by authors and illustrators who reside in Connecticut. Award winners will receive exposure in Connecticut media outlets and personal appearances in Connecticut locations.
