A Journey postponed

 "A Journey: A musical One-Woman Show written and performed by Kimberly Wilson" has been postponed. Stay tuned for the new performance date. 

Kimberly Wilson is the award-winning creator and actor of “A JOURNEY” Musical One-Woman Show

about the Black experience as told by a Black woman. In this powerful performance, seven women,

whose lives span hundreds of years, tell their stories of faith, hope, and a sense of calling that truly has

helped shape American history.

What is the Danbury Cultural Commission

The Danbury Cultural Commission is the citizen's voice for supporting cultural and artistic events in Danbury. They support and help fund performing arts programs for Danbury residents free of charge. The eleven-member Commission supports the development of new arts programs and supports and funds local arts, cultural and ethnic activities. The Commission also encourages, promotes and co-sponsors events which benefit and improve the quality of life for Danbury residents. Danbury Farmers Market Saturdays through October 28

 Are you ready for some FRESH produce, baked goods, eggs, jam, yummie delights, plants, fun activities, LIVE music and MORE? Then come to the Ives Street Green every Saturday, through October Twenty eighth between ten A M and two P M. There you can find the CityCenter, Danbury Farmers’ Market. Come support our local farmers and small businesses by purchasing their fresh produce and home-made crafts. Parking is available at the Patriot Parking Garage.

WCSU ART ALUMNI EXHIBITION Oct 5 – Nov 12, 2023 Opening Reception: Thurs, Oct 5, 2023, 6-8 pm

 the Western Connecticut State University art alumni exhibition is open running through November. This exhibition will kick off the Twenty twenty three to twenty four academic year, and commemorate W C S U's One Hundred twentieth year, by showcasing the talented artists who have graduated from the Bachelors, and Masters of Fine Arts in Visual Arts programs at W C S U. THE GALLERY is located at the Visual & Performing Arts Center Westconn Westside Campus. The exhibit runs through November twelfth.

Danbury Concert Association presents The Great Necks guitar trio with Jacob Reuven, mandolin, Sunday, October 15 at 3 p.m.

The Danbury Concert association brings the The Great Necks guitar trio with Jacob Reuven playing mandolin, to the City on Sunday, October fifteenth, Twenty Twenty three, at three pm. The trio enchants audiences everywhere with its daring performances and wide-ranging repertoire, from classical to contemporary. “Effortlessly brilliant” mandolin virtuoso Jacob Reuven will join the Great Necks in the world's premiere of Beethoven's violin concerto, arranged for mandolin and guitar trio.  

Single tickets at twenty five dollars per adult can be purchased through Eventbrite on Western Connecticut State University's Eventbrite page. Admission is FREE for ages 18 and under, thanks to the Danbury Cultural Commission. Please reserve in advance through Eventbrite. 

Performances take place at the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the WCSU Westside Campus. Tickets to individual concerts at twenty five dollars per adult will go on sale within two weeks of each performance.

Greater Danbury Irish Festival on the CityCenter Green, 2 Ives St. Danbury, CT! Oct 7 & 8

The Greater Danbury Irish Festival is a two-day event that you don’t want to miss! There is live Irish music all weekend long, Irish dancers, cultural activities and events. There is a shopping village, fun children's entertainment and games, plus delicious food, drinks.

The FESTIVAL HOURS are SATurday October seventh from noon to ten PM and SUNday the eighth from noon to six PM. The festival takes place on the CityCenter Danbury Green, two Ives Street. And there is FREE ADMISSION ALL WEEKEND LONG.
