Hatters & Hooch in “Dry” Danbury through Saturday, November 10
At the Danbury Museum and Historical Society you will find The story of Prohibition's rise and fall. It goes far beyond the oft-told tales of gangsters, rum runners, and speakeasies, revealing a complicated and divided nation in the process of major transformation. Prohibition: Hatters & Hooch in “Dry” Danbury, will explore this fascinating era, the intersection of temperance, prohibition, suffrage, and immigration, from a variety of angles. The exhibit is open on now and will continue through Saturday, November 10.

Danbury Madrigal Singers seeking new members Aug 21
The Danbury Music Centre Madrigal Singers is accepting new singers, ages 14 and up, for the fall 2018 season. The Madrigal Singers is an auditioned choral ensemble that performs a variety of chamber music and a cappella (unaccompanied) Renaissance and Elizabethan madrigals, motets, chansons, and anthems, and will be presenting a fully-staged Renaissance dinner program in November.
Auditions are Monday, August 20th, between 7 and 8 pm then Tuesday, August 21st, between 7 and 8 pm, in the Marian Anderson Hall of the Danbury Music Centre, 256 Main Street, Danbury. The ensemble rehearses on Thursday nights.

Charles Ives Concert Series August 11
This summer, once again, Charles Ives Concert Series is sponsored by the Danbury Music Centre. Under the direction of Paul Frucht, Artistic Director, and Jonathan Cziner, Associate Artistic Director, The purpose of the Ives Series is to bring American music to a community that is home to one of America’s most famous composers.
The four concert Series includes, on August 5th at 4:00 pm, the Duo, Harpist Emily Levin, and Violist Jacob Shack. Next on August 8th at 7:00 pm, Electric Youth performs, featuring, Peter Dugan and Charles Yang, and Chamber Music Intensive Participants. The series continues on August 9th at 7:00 pm with A 90th Birthday Celebration of Composer Samuel Adler featuring Julian Schwarz, and Marika Bournaki. The series closes on August 11th at 7:30 pm with the New Sincerity, From Darkness to Light. This concert is in Collaboration with the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra, featuring RSO Music Director Yuga Cohler. The Ives Series Artist-Faculty features in all concerts.

Carillon Concert Summer Series - Saint James Episcopal Church Wednesdays through Aug 15
The summer series continues. To hear the oldest Carillon built in the Unites States, bring your Lunch and enjoy the open-air Carillon Concert Summer Series in the garden of Saint James' Episcopal Church, on West Street Danbury, Connecticut.

Musicals at Richter Summer series through August 11
It's full steam ahead for Musicals at Richter. This summer sit back, and relax to enjoy the final wonderful Broadway style musical this season. Annie, focused on a feisty 1930s-era orphan who escapes the tyrannical Miss Hannigan for a better life in the household of billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
The park opens at 7pm with curtain at dusk. Bring a picnic dinner, blankets or chairs, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the foothills of the Berkshires before the show. Tickets are on sale now for performances every weekend, all summer long. Musicals at Richter is Connecticut’s longest-running outdoor theater.
