IN View Volunteer Opportunities for promotion and space location

The IN View project brings Visual Art to Main Street Storefronts. And right now the IN View Project is looking to grow. If anyone in greater Danbury is interested in volunteering to help bring art works to the community please contact the Cultural Commission, who will pass the response along to the project director. Help is needed with promotion and securing storefront spaces. 

Beyond that, inView is always looking for more artist to display their work! 

The IN VIEW project is a collaboration between property owners in downtown Danbury, Connecticut and area emerging artist who seek a venue to exhibit work.

Congressional Art Competition 2024 deadline Friday March 29 at 5:00 p.m.

Each spring, a nationwide high school arts competition is sponsored by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in collaboration with the Congressional Institute. The competition is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our Fifth Congressional District. 

Congresswoman Jahana Hayes welcomes participation by high school students who attend schools or live in Connecticut’s Fifth Congressional District. The winning artwork of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, as part of an exhibit with winners from around the country. Second place artwork will be displayed in the Congresswoman’s Washington D.C. Office, third place will be displayed for one year at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT, and fourth place will be displayed in the Congresswoman’s District Office.

The deadline for submitting work to be considered for the Twenty twenty four Competition is Friday March Twenty ninth, at five p m.

The St. Patrick's Day parade steps off at 2 p.m. from St. Peter's Church in downtown Danbury

The Danbury St. Patrick's Day parade steps off at two p m, from Saint Peter's Church in downtown Danbury and proceeds to the Greater Danbury Irish Cultural Center, Six Lake Avenue. At the parade's end there will be live Irish music, Irish dance, food, and refreshments.

Capturing Life And Lands opens on Friday March Twenty fourth, at Five P M

The Photography Exhibit, Capturing Life And Lands opens on Friday March Twenty fourth, at Five P M, at the Connecticut Institute for Communities, 120 Main Street, Danbury, Connecticut. The exhibit Features the work of Sloan T. Howard, Photographer, with an evening filled with stunning photographs that showcase the beauty of life and landscapes.

What is the Danbury Cultural Commission

The Danbury Cultural Commission is the citizen's voice for supporting cultural and artistic events in Danbury. They support and help fund performing arts programs for Danbury residents free of charge. The eleven-member Commission supports the development of new arts programs and supports and funds local arts, cultural and ethnic activities. The Commission also encourages, promotes and co-sponsors events which benefit and improve the quality of life for Danbury residents. Brahms and his Contemporaries March 17 at 4 3 PM

The Danbury Music Centre is happy to present Brahms and His Contemporaries with The Danbury Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Ariel Rudiakov on March seventeenth. They will perform a concert of Brahms, Symphony Number 0ne, and selections from Debussy's Nocturnes and Grieg's Piano Concerto in A minor with pianist Claudia Knafo.  This concert will be at the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the Westside campus of Western Connecticut State University 43 Lake Avenue Extension Danbury, Connecticut starting at 3 P M.
