The Danbury Museum and Historical Society Bill Michels August 23

 The Danbury Museum and Historical Society will again host Billy Michael in performance on August twenty three. Billy Michael is a musical fixture in and around Danbury with his solo act, performing a variety of popular music from all eras: The Beatles, The Kinks, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, Nat King Cole, James Taylor, Billy Joel, Lovin' Spoonful – and many more. 

This performance is set in the garden at the Museum, forty three Main Street, Danbury. The August twenty three, program starts at 1PM, and runs about an hour.

fourth Annual Danbury San Genaro Festival arrives for five days on August twentieth

 The fourth Annual Danbury San Genaro Festival arrives for five days on August twentieth , twenty twenty five. Each year, the festival begins with a mass and procession down Main Street. All are welcome to attend. The Mass on August 20 is led by Bishop Frank J. Caggiano starting 4PM in St. Peter Catholic Church, one oh four Main Street, Danbury, CT. The procession winds its way down Main Street to the Ives Street Green. 


The Festival features food, music, games, and other special entertainment. All of this is to be found on the Ives Street Green at 1 Ives Street August twenty through twenty four. This Year’s Grand Marshal is Antonia Tonina Mammoliti Chieffalo. Headline musicians every night, and two laser light shows round out the week long celebration.

Hat City to Hollywood Danbury in the movies

There Have been at least fifteen feature films with Danbury locations. The Danbury Library, Danbury Cultural Commission, Danbury Railway Museum, The BookSmiths Shoppe, Rosy Tomorrows, and Lesser Evil are teaming up to bring a movie series to Danbury. 

This spring the Hat City to Hollywood series will take place in the Danbury Library: with two showings left, May sixteen for Strangers on a Train, and June thirteen for Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, all in the Farioly Program Room starting at 1 P M. Admission is free but you must reserve your seat from the Danbury Library website.

Your cultural or artistic event can be on the Cultural Commission calendar

Danbury is full of things to do, every week throughout the year. While every attempt is made to find and promote everything, sometimes events get missed. If you know about something interesting going on and you think someone else should know about it, tell the Cultural Commission. Items for The Calendar may include, Any cultural or art performance or event, whether free or paid, and open to the public. Events must be held in the City, and have no stated or implied requirement to join or purchase a product. 

Submissions are encouraged from any individual, group or business, All listings are free. Send a description or a link of the event to NewsRoom at DanburyArts dot com and the editor will take it from there, posting in the calendar, on the website, and here in the flash briefing.
