Commissioner Notebook Late Autumn 2011

This month from the Danbury Cultural Commission, what’s up in the arts.

The Stanley L. Richter Association for the Arts is preparing for 2012.
Last season, arts programs were expanded and the House was added to the National Register of Historic Places.  Even more
programs will be produced over an expanded Spring and Autumn season including the much anticipated, September Juried Art Show.

First Night Danbury is gearing up to be another happy new year’s eve on Main Street. Buttons, providing entry to all events, are $7.50 available at CityCenter Danbury and at more than a half dozen locations.

The Graduates exhibit at the Mercurial Gallery, closes on December 15. Stop in Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 11 and 5.

The Danbury Music Center continues more than 75 years with a new Coral director and many concerts and the favorite Nutcracker for the holidays.

The Obey Foundation continues their Drums for Life program with clients of the Mental Health Network of Danbury through June 2012.

I’m Cultural Commissioner Gregory Wencek
